Kaushini Laksumanage

With over nineteen years of experience, Kaushini is currently responsible for leading teams, providing execution oversight and being the key client contact for transactions involving debt raising in both public and private markets via debentures, hybrid instruments, project financing, syndications, asset backed securitisations and Basel III compliant quoted debt. She has been instrumental in leading the Debt Capital Markets Division to achieve the market leader position over the last seven years in Sri Lanka.

Key Experience

Listed Debentures

• Led the deal team that structured Sri Lanka’s first ever BASEL III Compliant Tier 2 debenture issue for Sampath Bank.
• Was Instrumental in structuring and placing three debenture issues for National Development Bank. The first debenture issue amounting to a total issue size of LKR 10.0 Billion was the largest corporate debenture to be listed on the CSE at the time of issuance.

Asset Backed Securitisations and Loan Syndications

• Was instrumental in introducing novel products to the Sri Lankan capital markets such as credit card receivable securitisations, tea receivable securitisations and utility bill receivable securitisations.
• Led the team that successfully arranged a structured term loan facility to raise LKR 4.0 Billion for Laugfs Group

Other Key Transactions

• Deal team leader for the structuring and placement of three rated debenture issues for Central Finance Company amounting to LKR 6.5 Billion.

Kaushini holds a B.Com (Hons) major in Finance and Marketing from the University of Ottawa, Canada.
